JennyGardner ArtI have always had a creative streak. Whether it is flower arranging, soft furnishings, jewellery or dressmaking I have always enjoyed doing practical things. I even taught crafts, along with English and Maths whilst serving in the WRNS.
Over the years I have had various jobs including teaching horticulture, becoming a Library Manager in an Agricultural College, and eventually, after I moved to Cornwall from Devon to be with my partner (who became my husband), I studied to become a qualified Complementary Therapist.
My main inspirations come from nature, especially the sea in all its guises. Colours, light and drama are all things that I look for when choosing what to paint.
I work totally in acrylic, from my own photography, as I find the vibrancy of the paint is exactly what I need to get the effects I strive for in a piece of work. Also it helps me try new things and lends itself brilliantly to impressionism, adding texture and other mediums like glitter; which means I can let my imagination run wild!
